At New Hope Baptist Church of East Orange, Healthy Hope is our commitment to growing strong disciples and nurturing a vibrant church family for every generation. Rooted in the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:19 — “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — we believe in creating a church where children, youth, adults, and elders are all equipped to live out their faith with boldness and love.

What time is your Sunday service? Does it follow an order?

We come together as a church community in person and virtually to worship on Sundays at 11 am. It generally ends around 1 pm. Services at NHBCEO usually follow an order. It includes prayer, a Scripture selection, announcements, several choir selections, a sermon, and an invitation to join.

Do I have to be a Christian and/or a current member to attend?

While our teachings are based on the tenets of Christianity, our doors are open to all who are curious about the teachings of Jesus Christ. At the end of each service, you will be invited to join the body of Christ should you feel led. We welcome visitors to join us in worship, membership is not required.

Do I need to dress up?

Dressing up isn't required to worship with us at New Hope. We welcome everyone, no matter what you wear. Come as you are, and let's worship God together.

Will I understand the message even if I know little about the Bible?

We share the wisdom of Scripture in a creative and straightforward way to connect with people. Our goal is to help individuals learn about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; so we make our message accessible to all.

Is NHBCeo handicap accessible?

Yes! Our facilities have accessible ramps, entryways, restrooms, and seating. Please contact our church office to request accommodations if you have a specific concern.

I’d like to have a wedding, funeral, or baby dedication at NHBCeo. Who do I contact?

I need transportation for Sunday services. Can New Hope help?

New Hope offers transportation for those who need a ride to worship on Sundays. Please contact the church office at (973)678-6710 no later than Friday to arrange for pick up.

I need to get in touch with a deacon. Who do I contact?

Our deacons are here to assist and support the congregation in various ways. Please check the announcements to find out who the deacon on duty is for the week.

Today, we extend the opportunity of salvation to you. If you are ready to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior, looking for a new church home, or ready to return to New Hope, please fill out the form below. You will be contacted to begin your journey, starting at the New Members class, which is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in-person. Upon completing the classes, we will extend the Right Hand of Fellowship to you on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
